It is no secret that the beauty industry can be an absolute minefield. Not only do we need to understand what each makeup product is for, but we then need to understand which is best. Even more importantly, which is best for each of us as individuals.
One of the most original, classic, and necessary items that each woman should own, is a small blush. For centuries now women have been pinching their cheeks for color, carrying around pocket size blushers, and now, blusher comes in all sorts.
One of the most commonly used blushers is peach blusher. This is because peach blush is a tone that can be adapted to suit pretty much any skin tone whilst having a natural, sophisticated look.
With so many options out there, the beauty industry is fantastic but also confusing. Today I am going to try and help with this. If you are interested in finding out the best peach blusher, and the best blush to suit you and your tones, then this is the article for you!
What is the best peach blush to buy?
The best peach blush available really is down to a number of factors. What may be ideal for you could be completely different for your best friend.
When finding the best peach blush, there are 4 main factors to consider:
- Price – how much you are willing to spend
- Skin tone – the best color for you is dependent on your skin tone
- Skin type – depending on your skin type, the texture of your blush can make a big difference
- Purpose – the reason for the blush can help determine the kind of color and texture you should purchase
Peach blush can come in not only multiple shades, but different textures, prices and brands. The main textures available are powder blush, liquid blush and cream blush.
As most brands provide numerous shades, I am first going to list some of the best blushers available due to their texture. I will then go on to look at affordability, accessibility, and finally I am going to talk you through the best shades to look for depending on your skin tone.
The Best Peach Powder Blush
One of the most popular blushes out there is the MAC Powder Blush in Melba.
MAC products are extremely popular and come in so many versatile colors. They have an ongoing high satisfaction rating.
The blush is available online and in MAC stores. It is extremely long-lasting and applies evenly, without going patchy like some of the cheaper brands.
Although MAC makeup is slightly more expensive, with items like blusher, you are only using a small amount at a time and so a little pot goes a long way.
The MAC powder blush comes in a small container, making it super easy to carry around and top up for the classic “powder my nose” situation.
Melba is a lovely, soft, peach color with a hint of coral. It is extremely subtle and works well if you want to add a pinch of color to light or medium skin tones. For darker skin tones, this shade may be slightly too light, but the MAC powder blush is fantastic because it comes in so many colors.
A tone that may be better suited for darker skin, is the Coppertone shade. This still has the warm, peachy color but is slightly darker. This can also work well for olive skin. The purpose of blush is to not have a shade that is lighter than your natural tones, but also not too much darker. Coppertone is a wonderful middle-ground for almost all skin tones.
Finally, the MAC powder blush comes in a wonderful variety of shimmery tones. In terms of the best peach blusher, Warm Soul is the perfect option to keep those peachy tones whilst adding a bit more of a glow. This is fantastic for a night out, but also to add something special to a neutral look as well.
The Best Peach Liquid Blush
Finding the best liquid peach blush can be slightly more difficult. Peach blush is not added so lightly to the skin as powder blush, and so finding the correct tone is slightly more important.
The NARS liquid Blush in Luster is a fantastic addition to any makeup bag. This blusher is extremely light, meaning it is a lot more subtle than other liquid blushes when applied. This means that it can be great for lighter skin, but can also be layered over a powder for a more dramatic look.
The blush contains Monoi and Tamanu oils which help moisturize the skin during application, but also add a lovely dewy finish to the blusher.
Whilst Luster is a fantastic shade for all skin tones, and can be paired with a powder blush to make it more individual to your needs, the NARS blush is available in many other tones as well. Torrid is a slightly darker shade, but perfect for bringing a flush of color to all skin tones.
Whilst being slightly more expensive than other brands, only one pump of this liquid blush will provide enough for a natural, all-day finish and so the bottle will go a long way.
The Best Peach Cream Blush
Finally, we have cream blush – the more recently trending form of blusher. Cream blush is probably my favorite form of blush as it can be used subtly, dramatically, and provides a lovely, creamy finish to my makeup.
By far, the best peach blush out there in a cream blush form is the Rare Beauty Vulnerable Melting Blush in Nearly Apricot. Much like the name suggests, it really does give a melt in the mouth finish to your cheeks. They feel so creamy and smooth and the color applies in a satisfyingly, smooth and even way.
Nearly Apricot is a lovely, pinky peach color. Again it can be layered up for darker skin, however it is best not to pair cream blushers with powders as it might end up clumping.
This blush is available online and sits slightly more expensive than others, but I can promise it is worth it!
The Best Affordable Peach Blush
When looking for the best affordable peach blush, it is useful to look for the best peach blush drugstore version available, as well as looking for those online.
Revolution Blusher in Peach Bliss is a fantastic and affordable peach blush that you will be able to find in most drugstores. The tone is extremely neutral, with a lovely peach shimmer to it. Like the other powder blushes, you can layer it up for darker skin tones.
It is extremely easy and even application, and also very affordable. If you are looking for something cheap, cheerful, and shimmery, this is the perfect option for you!
Alternatively, Physicians Formula Powder in Blushing Peach sits as one of Amazon’s best sellers and top choices. It comes in many color variations, but blushing peach is by far the best peach blusher they have available.
It is easy to apply, super affordable, and with it being one click away on Amazon there really is no reason not to give it a try!
The Best Peach Blush For My Skintone
Knowing the best tones to go for depending on your skin tone can be really difficult to figure out when it comes to pretty much all makeup. From foundation, to lipstick, to blusher.
The best peach blush for light skin would be a neutral, pinky tone blush (like this one by Milani) with a light application. This will give a natural effect and if it needs to be built up more than it can.
The best peach blush for medium skin would be to go for one with hints of beige or brown through the peach. This will add more depth and an olive tone to give a natural, sun kissed effect. This is the same when deciding the best peach blush for olive skin tones. The Physicians Formula in Natural is a fantastic blush for those with medium skin or those with olive skin.
Finally, for those with darker skin tones, you should look for a more vibrant peach as this will add a pinch of color, instead of appearing lighter on the skin. A palette like Covergirl Peach and Blush is perfect. This has multiple shades which allows you to layer up and alter the shade to make it more specific to your personal skin tone.
Who should wear a peach blusher?
When it comes to makeup, even when it comes to clothing, some people suit some colors, whilst other people do not. Well, this is no different for blushers.
I will go on to explain specific shades depending on different skin tones later, but in summary, the beauty of peach blusher is that it comes in so many peach tones that there is one to suit anyone.
Browns, pinks and reds can be very individual and may not be so versatile with who they suit. However, anyone can pull off a peach blusher. Anyone should pull it off too because a peach blusher really can be the best addition to that everyday, casual face of makeup, but can also add a final blast of color to your girl’s night out face of makeup.
Peach is quite light, subtle, and elegant in its appearance which is what makes peach blusher such a versatile makeup product.
